Lab Supply’s Pipette Challenge at Queenstown Research Week was a hit with over 80 scientists competing to disassemble and reassemble a BRAND pipette as fast as possible. Claudia Allan, a PhD student from the University of Canterbury, was our final winner with an impressive time of 26.62 seconds.
As a prize, Claudia’s selected her very own BRAND micropipette, which she plans to use in her research on how plants adapt to environmental stress. Her work focuses on calcium and reactive oxygen species signalling in Arabidopsis roots, using a microfluidic bi-directional-dual-flow-RootChip platform. Congratulations, Claudia, and we look forward to seeing your career continue to flourish!
A special shout-out to everybody who visited our booth, and took part in the competition. We hope everyone enjoyed Queenstown Research Week, and we can’t wait to see you in Christchurch next year!
